BUREAU OF FIRE PROTECTION Tagudin headed by OIC Municipal Fire Marshal SFO4 Henedino R Reduca, moved forward in order to reach the far flung barangays of Tagudin, to disseminate the importance of Fire Safety and Prevention education to its constituents and at the same time campaigning for this year’s fire prevention month objectives.
Some of the Barangays of this municipality are unreachable by our Fire trucks especially during rainy season. This prompted the OIC Municipal Fire Marshal to give priority on this areas for Fire Safety information education and give them basic knowledge on Fire safety suppression and steps to consider in case of Fire and other emergencies.
These extra efforts of Tagudin personnel turned into fruition because of the warm welcome and appreciation of the people in those areas that are visited.
Fire Prevention is one of the key programs of the Bureau of Fire Protection ( BFP ) to lessen fire incidents in the country and to inform constituents about their responsibilities to avoid incidence of fires.
March 1, 2013 – “ Walk for a Fire Free and Fire Safe Nation “ has been conducted in Candon City as part of the Fire Prevention Month. BFP personnel of Sta. Maria Fire Station started the year with lots of noteworthy activities that build good rapport between the BFP and Barangays within their AOR. One of these activities is the conduct of Ugnayansa Barangay of the whole Barangays of Burgos, Ilocos Sur on March 11, 2013.
Participants of said Ugnayan sa Barangay are the Barangay officials, tanods and other municipal employees of this Municipality. They were taught with relevant information, and trained different skills regarding firefighting, fire prevention and rescue operation. With these noble activities at stake, whenever cases of emergencies and other eventualities occur, these well-skilled citizens can help the firefighters in protecting the lives and properties of the whole citizenry, as they are called force multipliers.
Cabugao Firefighters conduct Fire Safety Lectures to different Barangays and establishment as part of the Bureau’s extensive Fire Safety Awareness Campaign. Residents were taught with fire safety at home, at schools and at workplace, the Classes of fire and how to extinguish destructive fires. They were imparted with guiding principle what to do in case of fire.
Cabugao firefighters are not satisfied in gving lectures alone that is why the participants had the film viewing on fire safety. With this, had the full view of the actual demonstration, for them to figure out of the earlier lecture/dialogue.
